Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepares mechanical engineering designs, including layout, design sketches, and conceptual design
• Performs and checks engineering calculations following standard methods and principles for projects
• Develops quality standards and checks for existing and new parts received from outside vendors
• Plans and/or participates in factory acceptance testing for new products
• Performs assignments which have moderately specified objectives and require the investigation of systems, equipment and devices to meet those requirements, and appropriate sizing and material selections
• Provides suggestions for improvements to standards
• Checks manufacturer's drawings, datasheets, detail, and determines interface requirements with equipment
• May prepare performance test procedures and conducts equipment performance testing
• May conduct training sessions for other company personnel
• Performs major equipment selection research and develops recommendations with supportive materials
Qualifications
• Must have strong organizational skillsto lead multiple projects simultaneously
• Able to evaluate a challenge, identify sources of information/data required to make recommendations
• Ability to determine necessary action with limited or no oversight. Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications
• Prefer SolidWorks, but any CAD/3D experience is acceptable. Familiarity with PDM Pro application is a plus.
Education and/or Experience
• Mechanical Engineering degree or other technical degree combined with mechanical aptitude is acceptable
• Must have 2-3 years mechanical engineering experience or equivalent
• Electrical experience a plus
