For less experienced candidates, they are willing to train these people and give them regular pay increases as they develop their skills. If you give them someone who can tell a good weld from a bad weld this would be a good start.

BASIC FUNCTION
To operate, program, maintain, and troubleshoot welding robots for all phases of production.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Production
• Manage daily operation of the Robotic cell
• Track and maintain preventive maintenance tasks
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Perform inventory control procedures
• Prioritize and process shop orders for the robotic cell
• General housekeeping duties
• Any tasks as determined by supervisory personnel
• Adhere to all department policies and procedures
• Train other personnel on programming and operations as required
• Communicate with other shifts and departments to aid in maintaining part quality to acceptable standards
• With readily available supervision and programming guidance, able to perform minor programming corrections to start or end locations, air moves, and make weld path adjustments.
• Complies with all safety programs.
Quality
• Conduct first article inspections
• Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) as required
• Performs and documents required visual and physical quality inspections as indicated by the control plan and the setup and run sheet.
• Assisting the Quality Department with any customer concerns/problems resolution.
• Correctly identifies and handles non-conforming product.
Leadership
• Participate in communicating, developing and implementing best practices across company.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Computer literacy required
• Knowledge of machines and tools
• MIG or Robotic Welding experience preferred but not required
