Service Technician jnf
Primary responsibilities would eventually involve the field service work and internal service phone
support relative to those product lines involving electrical schematics i.e. the Startup and/or repair of the
ESG steam boiler type product lines and at times servicing other products in the field.
o In order to reach the point of solely being able to perform field service work, training would be
provided by internally working under the tutelage of management, along side other employees
involved in some service responsibilities, and outside accompaniment from the present
contractor service technician.
Secondary responsibilities (but not limited to) when not in the field would be to generate electrical
requirements related to the Job Packets (used in production assembly) i.e. generation of electrical
submittal drawings such as schematics and panel manufacturing drawings.
o With regards to AutoCAD we would train you on the basics so you could make changes to the
electrical drawings and generating new drawings via ‘Save as’ protocols from other drawings.
Other responsibilities (but not limited to) when not in the field or involved in service phone support, or
generating electrical related drawings would be the following:
o Building electrical panels in the Electrical ‘Lab’.
o Testing while familiarizing yourself regarding all electrical components (size and weight for Lab
testing within reason) prior to releasing into production.
o Mechanical hands on production job tasks involving welding and assembly while helping to
learn the various product lines.
General Job Responsibilities (not necessarily in order):
Learn and follow general procedures and quality controls as well as follow all safety regulations.
Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
Work as directed with sales and engineering’s directives.
Further develop the ability to work independently.
Self motivated with good attention to detail.
Take ownership for various individualized tasks and projects to their completion.
Continue the development of electrical drawing organization for ease of location and application under
management’s guidance.
Participate when invited in part during the beginning of the work week in Production meetings, Job
Packet Electrical CadEng meetings, and at times Production Status Supervisor meetings.
Offer help to educate company associates with product electrical schematics and their understanding
and implementation.
Communicate with various vendors for product information and component specifications relative to
electrical panels, associated components and their integration and well as becoming involved in new
electrical panel development as it occurs.
Eventually take the lead of responding to electrical related service inquiries and respond accordingly to
technical questions as related to electrical schematic drawings and a client’s O&M installation wiring
questions,
Electrical panel building and testing with related certain electrical components the ‘Lab’ for approval
before being sent to production or to be shipped to a client.
Installation of electrical component assemblies as needed in production.
Assist in flexible conduit connections of ‘components to panel’ in production.
Troubleshooting/debugging knowledge of electrical components as required.
Become adept in variable speed drives, Honeywell controllers.
Occasionally assist in troubleshooting production machinery and maintenance checks.
o CI maintains a system of manufacturing equipment maintenance logs to monitor and schedule
equipment checks.
