Shipping and Receiving Clerk ajc
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Determine the method of consignment by means of knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
2. Arrange for carrier vehicle or pickup.
3. Process shipments in UPS system including printing UPS labels.
4. Create Bill of Lading for pallet shipments.
5. Verify accuracy of orders by matching them with quantities and types.
6. Pull merchandise from inventory and prepare for shipment (pick/pack/pull).
7. Enter shipments into the ERP data system by creating the pack list
8. Input shipping information into the EDI portal
9. Create Advance Ship Notices.
10. When receiving incoming goods, check for defects and compare the amount and identification numbers of goods against orders.
11. Safely use a forklift to load and unload deliver trucks. Utilize other equipment like carts and pallet jacks to move material throughout the facility.
12. Authenticate receipt of shipments alongside bills of lading, invoices, or other records. Document discrepancies.
13. Ensure received items are routed to appropriate department.
14. Attach identifying information and delivery instructions on containers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or GED (highly preferred).
· 2-3 year’s previous experience performing shipping/receiving and related administrative duties.
· Appropriate credentials to operate a fork lift (highly preferred).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 on a regular basis.
