Position Responsibilities described herein entails related duties for receiving parts and materials and

shipping packages and products and related job requirements but not limited to the following objectives:

Receiving:

 Receives, unpacks, and verifies incoming merchandise and material according to procedures for distribution to the appropriate areas/employees.

 Receive and unload freight manually from semi trailers, or mechanically with pallet jack, forklift, or crane.

 Check received goods for damage, verify quantities, and quality of shipment with purchase order.

 Reject damaged goods or materials and correspondence with shipper to adjust damages or shortages.

 Place received items into stock, stock shelves, and rotate inventory  

o Submit parts requisitions to purchasing.

o Print inventory parts labels as required.

 Inventory maintenance and clerical duties associated with maintenance of stock items.

 Report to the Plant Manager as needed.

 Occasionally assist the Production Manager when called upon.  

 Perform additional duties assigned by Supervisor.  

Shipping:

 Ready for shipment cardboard box packages and particle board boxes on 4 x 4ft skids for shipping with proper shipping documentation.

o When required build particle board boxes with 2 x 4s & particle board shipping crates.

 Print daily reports and labels for outgoing shipments made on the FedEx and UPS systems.  

 Prepare items for shipment by determining the shipping method for products using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates in order to wrap, package, crate items for shipping.  

Basic skills required:

 Good understanding of how FedEx and UPS functions w/ computer skills.  

 Familiarization with basic measuring and assembly tools (tape measure, screw drivers, electric drills, etc.) and some carpentry knowledge of operating a skill saw and working with particle board and 2x4’s to build small product crates on purchased skids.

 Interpret visual aids and be able to perform simple math

 Must have a drivers license and have basic computer & typing, fork lift and crane operating skills.

o Will train on operating the S&R computer programs  

o Will certify on the fork lift and crane.

o Will train as needed on the use of basic crate building tools and electrical devices.
