ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·       Has a thorough knowledge of industrial motion control, Programmable Logic Control (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), programming, safety systems. Develop and optimize these systems, including the selection of sensors and I/O devices along with the sizing of actuators, motors, and drives appropriate for the application.

·       Is proficient in the use of related software tools including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), SolidWorks Electrical, document management and versioning (PDM), AutoCAD/DraftSight, and Rockwell products not limited to: Studio 5000, FactoryTalkView ME, Connected Components Workbench. Exposure to Beckhoff, Talk2M eWon, and Connected Industry/IoT/i4.0 a plus.

·       Create and maintain engineering standards that are within the established norms of the packaging/converting machinery industry. Maintain compliance with the current national and international standards for the care and construction of packaging/converting related machinery and equipment.

·       Identifies opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies; implements product improvement programs through research, development, verification, validation, testing, commissioning, and support.

·       Maintain professional and technical expertise by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing benchmarks, participating in industry activities, partnering with suppliers.

·       Sees that adequate records of formulae, drawings, process methods, bills of materials, patient actions, and product construction standards are maintained. Prepares progress reports and ensures that all appropriate personnel are kept abreast of electrical engineering activities.

·       Provide technical documentation and information in support of Technical Publications.

·       Provides engineering consultation on company products to other departments as required. This may include support of the Technical Service group with expertise and guidance in the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrification, control and communication systems including off hours support and travel to customers' facilities as required, often on short notice, to support critical needs or work stoppage situations.

·       Provides regular, professional interactions withvendors on electrical engineering designs, obsolescence, systems, or proposedmachinery components sufficient to meet desired specifications.

·       Inform and mentor designers, interns, and othermembers of the electrical team assisting with professional development.

·       Visibly supports "lean" and otherprocess improvement activities. Participates in rapid improvement events.Applies continuous improvement practices to one's job. Supports transitionactivities, as required. Maintains an open mind throughout the change process.Works with others to continuously fuel improvement throughout the Company.

·       Contributes to CMD's core competencies of MarketIntelligence and Product Development by gathering and reporting all relevantinformation. This includes competitive information and new technology trends.

·       Responsible for own safety. Practices only safe work habits and ensures all safety rules are followed. Responsible to keep area clean and organized to ensure safe working conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

·       A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering,

·       Six years of experience in the engineer-to-order machinery industry

·       Must also have background in machinery designincluding power, controls, and programming.
