Tool Maker - 1st shift ajc
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1st shift: Monday through Friday 7am-3pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Create and repair tools, dies, jigs and fixtures used within the manufacturing process.
* Study blueprints, sketches, models or specifications to plan sequence of operations for the tool.
* Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gage blocks, micrometers and dial calipers.
* Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies based on specifications.
* Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify tools using machine tools and hand tools.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
* Enrollment in or certificate from college or technical school required.
* Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent attendance and a positive, “can do” attitude.
THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS BUT NOT REQUIRED:
* Three to five years tool room experience.
* Solidworks and/or MasterCAM experience.
* CNC programming experience.
* One or more years of CNC machine operating experience.
