Finishing Operator

1. Assist with the setup and operation of stitchers, folders, perfect binder, poly bagger, cutters, mailers, shrink wrappers, tipper, CT trimmer, drills and other finishing equipment.

2. Understand the job ticket and other specifications of an assigned job.

3. Understand the standards as explained on the goal sheets and work toward achieving the goals.

4. Feed pockets, recognition of and sorting of different forms.

5. Jogging all paper into uniform lifts.

6. Down-pile that consists of sorting, palletizing and bagging of mail per postal regulations and/or client specifications.

7. Make boxes, box finished products, make labels, stuff envelopes, jog, stack and sort product.

8. Conducting periodic quality checks.

9. Monitor production and quality.

10. Understand customer packaging specifications and pack skids per instructions.

11. Understand and comply with safety procedures regarding the operation of the equipment and the organizational policies.

12. Participate in, support and drive 6S and lean activities in the finishing department.

1. Assists in clean up and maintaining of an orderly and neat work environment.

2. Discuss project specifications with the next shift at shift change.

1. Previous manufacturing experience, in a printing environment is a plus.


1. Word processing knowledge.

2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

3. Ability to work independently with little or no instruction.

4. Problem analysis and problem resolution abilities.

5. Language skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret various types of correspondence. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and employees. Ability to effectively present information to customers and management.

6. Mathematical skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions. Basic accounting and financial knowledge. Ability to read dimensions with a scale and perform calculations of measurements in both fraction and decimal format. Conversion of fractions to decimals and vice versa.

7. Reasoning ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to ensure that tight deadlines are met

Finishing – 12 hour shifts for nights, both ends of the week. 

Spanish speakers welcome. 

Would still like mechanically inclined folks who might grow to be operators.
