Laser/Press Brake Programmer act

Essential Duties:

• Programming of fiber laser cutting and press brake machines for customer orders

• Develop, modify, and optimize laser cutting and press brake programs using CAD/CAM software

• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to create accurate machine programs

• Provide technical support and training to laser and press brake operators

• Schedule and track machine/shift production

• Review customer complaints, and assist in problem solving activities to prevent their recurrence

• Regular interaction with team members and supervisors in a collaborative atmosphere

• Assist sales with the review of new project quotes

• Work with sales and quality in maintaining control of customer supplied drawings and models

• Manage and coordinate preventative maintenance schedule to ensure equipment is maintained by manufacturer specifications

• Report machine downtime and coordinate repairs

• Ordering of parts and supplies for laser & press brake machines (i.e. consumables & raw materials)

• Assist operations with monthly calibrations

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Adherent to all company policies, procedures, and rules

• Stay current with industry trends and technical advancements in laser and press brake technology

• Perform other duties as assigned

Language Ability:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, models, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, data sheets and procedures

• Effective communication in both English and Spanish (preferred)

Computer Skills:

• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (i.e. DraftSight)

• Knowledge of Quoting Software (i.e. SigmaNest, SecturaFab)

• Laser Programming Software (Amada Dr. Abe and 3i Blank a plus)

• Bend Programming Software (Preferred, specifically Amada 3i Bend)

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Fiber Laser and Press Brake Machine operation and programming

Other Abilities and Skills:

• Customer service.

• Attention to detail.

• Comprehend the consequences of various problem situations and refer such problems to the appropriate individual for decision-making.

• Work with a wide range of personalities in a courteous, effective, and efficient manner, representing Dalco in a professional manner.

• Apply common sense understanding in carrying out written or oral instructions.

• Patience & ability to train employees with regard to Laser & Press Brake processes and programming.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, and

use hands to handle, or touch objects, lift files weighing 1-3 pounds, open filing cabinets. The Laser/Press Brake Programmer

is frequently required to talk or hear. Vision abilities required to perform this position include close vision, distance vision,

peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.

Work Environment:

Work is performed is in both a normal office environment as well as significant time on the shop floor. The Laser/Press

Brake Programmer is required to use personal protection devices (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, & ear plugs) to

protect against exposures in the work environment. The Laser/Press Brake Programmer routinely uses standard office

equipment such as a computer, phone, photocopier, and file cabinets. Standard dress code is work casual, jeans acceptable,

appropriate office attire
