Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures on CNC machining equipment.
- Operate CNC machining equipment.
- Perform some machine alignment procedures and machine zero home procedures to keep equipment at peak operating performance.
- Able to troubleshoot machine problems.
- Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
- Must be able to operate Mazak and Haas.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
- Excellent attendance and a positive, “can do” attitude.
- Previous experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- CNC set up experience is a plus
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk or hear for 1 to 10 hours a day. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk, squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward. While performing this job the employee is required to lift boxes and other materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a 55 – 90 degree Fahrenheit environment. Work in a fast paced industrial environment wearing vision protection, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing.
